Category - Mackerel

Mackerel typically have vertical stripes on their backs and deeply forked tails.  It is often the fish that children catch when sea fishing using a line and spinner. Also it is very high in Omega 3 oils which is healthy for the bones, skin and joints.

Mackerel can be cooked very simply with a drop of oil and grilled or served with sweet & sour. There are many recipes in between due to the fish being able to handle strong flavours, spices and herbs. It is one of the fastest fishes in the sea and also incredibly fast to cook. All in all a superb fish in so many recipes.
