  • In a bowl, combine the beef mince with salt and black pepper.
    500 g beef mince, salt, black pepper
  • Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, about 2cm thick.
  • Heat a large frying pan or grill over medium-high heat.
  • Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  • Place one slice of Cheddar and one slice of Monterey Jack cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking.

  • Cover the pan with a lid to allow the cheese to melt.
  • While the patties are cooking, slice the red onion and tomatoes.

  • Separate and wash the lettuce leaves.

  • Slice the sesame seed baps in half and lightly toast them if desired.

  • Spread one tablespoon of relish on the bottom half of each bap.

  • Place a lettuce leaf on the relish, followed by a tomato slice, then the cheeseburger patty, and finally some red onion slices.
  • Top with the other half of the bap.

  • I made this for me last week and it was stonking. Football is on so made them for the guys and a big thumbs up. If only England football could be as good.

  • Seriously good burger recipe. The boys were quiet watching the footbal while eating these. Never know them to be quiet when football is on!

  • My wife saw this and thought if me. Mot sure if she is trying to kill me but what a good way to go. Everything was so tasty and worked so well together. Loved the relish.
    Only change was I used a beef/pork mixture.
