Homemade Tomato Sauce is a fundamental recipe that every cook should know. This recipe can be added to Quick Meatballs, Oriental Meatballs and a large number of pastas. This sauce will complete a meal and can be varied according to your tastes. However, I like to add a dash of Chilli Sauce or Tabasco Sauce for a hit of heat. My children grew up on pasta with Tomato Sauce and have learnt the recipe and my grandchildren are now enjoying the sauce. The obvious benefit is how few ingredients are involved and how quickly it can be produced. Also if you want to add a bit of body, I add smoked bacon to the pan and render the fat. This is used as the base for the sauce and adds flavour and texture. Furthermore, the sauce can be made in advance and frozen for a later date.
