Rub the salmon fillets with olive oil and season them with salt and pepper.
4 large salmon fillets, 2 tsp olive oil, salt, pepper
Grill the salmon for about 4-5 minutes on each side, depending on the thickness of the fillet, until it is cooked through and has a slight char. Set aside to rest.
Make the Paprika Cream Sauce:
In a small pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
1 tbsp butter
Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
1 clove garlic
Stir in the paprika, and cook for another 30 seconds to release the flavour.
1 tsp smoked paprika
Add the double cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Let it cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
1 cup double cream
Stir in the lemon juice and season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another minute, then remove from heat.
1 tsp lemon juice, salt, pepper
Assemble:
Place the grilled salmon on a serving plate and drizzle the paprika cream sauce over each fillet with the sides of your choice.
Notes
Serve with a fresh orange salad, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables for a well-rounded, delicious meal.
