Ingredients
2mediumBramley apple or Granny Smith apples peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
clotted creamcaramel sauce, or vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 200°C (180°C fan) or Gas Mark 6. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, combine the apple slices with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are evenly coated with the spices and sugar.
2 medium Bramley apple, 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, ¼ tsp ground nutmeg, 1 tbsp lemon juice
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into six equal squares/rectangles.
1 block puff pastry
Place a spoonful of the spiced apple mixture in the centre of each pastry square. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling, pressing gently to seal the edges. You can also pinch the edges to create a decorative crimp.
Place the parcels on the prepared baking tray. Brush the tops with the beaten egg to give them a golden finish.
1 large egg
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
Allow the parcels to cool slightly on a wire rack. Dust with icing sugar before serving, and if desired, pair with clotted cream, caramel sauce, or vanilla ice cream.
