Apple Compote
Apple Compote is a sauce made of apples mixed with a wide choice of spices and flavourings. I have used lemon juice here but you can pick your own. Sugar or honey are also commonly added to sweeten the sauce.

Instructions
Place the chopped apples in a smallish saucepan with the lemon juice and water.
Cover with a lid and simmer for about 15 minutes until very soft stirring occasionally.
Remove from the hob and add the brown sugar to sweeten if required. Stir well until fully absorbed.
