Rub the tuna steaks with olive oil, then season with salt and pepper. Set aside to marinate while you prepare the sauce.
4 large tuna steaks, 2 tbsp olive oil, salt, pepper
Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Sauté the onion for 3–4 minutes until softened. Add garlic and cook for another minute.

Stir in the mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes, until softened and slightly browned.

Preheat a grill or griddle pan over medium-high heat. Cook the tuna steaks for 2–3 minutes per side for a medium-rare finish, or longer if you prefer them well done.
Place the grilled tuna steaks on plates and spoon the tomato, mushroom, and olive sauce over them. Garnish with a sprinkle of parsley and a drizzle of lemon juice if desired.
