tart apples
peeled, cored, quartered, and thinly sliced

plain yogurt

Instructions
Combine the herring, onions, apples, yogurt, and lemon juice in a bowl and toss to combine thoroughly.
Marinate covered in the refrigerator for 4 hours or overnight.
Sprinkle with chopped dill before serving.
