Light, crisp, and packed with cheesy goodness, Parmesan Nibbles are the perfect quick snack or canape for any occasion. You can stick to classic Parmesan or mix things up with other cheeses for a different twist.
Preheat your oven to 200°C (180°C fan) / 400°F / Gas Mark 6. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
Unroll the puff pastry and place it flat on a lightly floured surface or straight onto the lined baking tray.

Brush the pastry all over with the beaten egg.

Sprinkle the grated Parmesan evenly across the surface. Add a light grinding of black pepper if you like.
50 g Parmesan cheese, freshly ground black pepper
Cut the pastry into small squares, rectangles, or strips – about 3–4cm wide is ideal for bite-sized nibbles.
Bake in the oven for 12–15 minutes, or until puffed up and beautifully golden.
Cool slightly on the tray, then move to a wire rack to cool completely (if you can resist eating them straight away!).

Tips:Other cheeses: Try using finely grated Gruyère, mature Cheddar, or a sprinkle of crumbled blue cheese for a different flavour.Serving suggestions: Serve warm with a glass of sparkling wine, or alongside olives, cured meats, and a little bowl of chutney for an easy sharing platter.
