Coriander Seeds

Coriander Seeds – The dried seeds of the Cariandrum sativum plant, which also gives us the herb cilantro, have a sweet, spicy fragrance with hints of pepper and orange peel. They are widely used throughout North Africa, the Middle East, and India as a flavouring for meat and vegetable dishes, stews, and sausages. In Europe and North America they are usually found in pickling spice mixtures and in cakes and cookies. The whole seeds are easily crushed or ground and retain their flavour much longer than the pre-ground form available on the market.
