Comfrey isn’t found in many kitchens these days, but it was valued in the Middle Ages. They were used for cooking and also for its supposed ability to cure a variety of ailments. The large hairy leaves may be added to salads and sauces, or battered and deep-fried for amazing snacks and nibbles.
