Mountain Pepper
Mountain Pepper is the fresh and dried berries of a small shrub native to Australia. It is often used as a substitute for pepper in combination with other Australian bush spices. The small, dark berries resemble pepper in appearance, and can be ground in a pepper mill. The berries are very potent with an intensive bite more pungent than pepper, and may even provide a mouth-numbing effect if used to excess.
