Bruschetta is a simple yet delicious dish loved by many. Traditionally, it features toasted bread rubbed with garlic, drizzled with olive oil, and topped with diced tomatoes and fresh basil. However, there are many ways to enjoy this dish, each offering unique flavours and textures. Here, we explore two tasty versions: the classic tomato option and a creamy twist with homemade guacamole.
Classic Tomato Bruschetta
This version is perfect for those who love fresh and bold flavours. Juicy ripe tomatoes, fragrant basil, and olive oil create a refreshing topping that pairs beautifully with crispy toasted bread. The light and tangy taste make it an excellent choice, especially in warmer months.
Guacamole Bruschetta
For a rich and creamy alternative, try bruschetta topped with homemade guacamole. The smooth texture of avocado contrasts beautifully with crunchy French baguette slices. A squeeze of lime and a sprinkle of seasoning add extra flavour, while fresh parsley on top gives a bright and herbaceous finish.
How to Serve
Bruschetta is incredibly versatile and works well in many settings:
- As an appetiser – A great start to any meal at dinner parties.
- As a snack – Enjoy with a glass of crisp white wine or a refreshing cocktail.
- With a charcuterie board – Complements cured meats, cheeses, and olives.
- As part of a meal – Serve alongside soup or a fresh green salad.
The Perfect Bite
Whether you prefer the traditional tomato-based bruschetta or the creamy guacamole version, both bring something special to the table. Their combination of textures and flavours makes them a fantastic choice for gatherings or a simple treat at home.

A lively contrast but they were both tasty. Will be making these again and again especially as part of a brunch!
I was skeptical about guacamole on bruschetta, but wow—it works so well
Both toppings were bursting with flavour, and the crispy baguette was the perfect base. Ideal for a quick snack or appetiser.
Perfect for entertaining.
The creamy avocado with the crispy baguette was absolutely delicious. Both variations were simple yet packed with flavour.
Super easy to make, yet they look and taste like a gourmet appetiser.
You don’t need fancy ingredients to make something delicious, and these bruschetta variations prove it.
They both disappeared in minutes. Need to more next time as I didn’t have any!!
I added a sprinkle of chilli flakes to the guacamole one for a spicy kick—highly recommend.
Great as an appetiser, snack or side dish.
These bruschetta variations are fantastic! The tomato version was light and tangy, while the guacamole one felt indulgent yet refreshing.
Both bruschetta versions were incredible, and they took barely any time to make.
The classic tomato bruschetta tasted so fresh and vibrant with the basil and olive oil. The guacamole one added a rich and creamy contrast. Loved them.
I enjoyed both types of bruschetta equally! The tomato one had a classic, refreshing taste, while the guacamole one felt unique and satisfying.
The combination of crunchy bread with juicy tomatoes or creamy guacamole was heavenly. Will definitely be making them again.
The richness of the avocado balances beautifully with the bread. The tomato version was just as delicious. I just had to eat both!!
