Mozzarella and tomato salad is a fresh and simple dish, perfect for any occasion. It’s light, full of flavour, and incredibly easy to prepare, making it a favourite for those who enjoy healthy, no-fuss meals. The star ingredients – creamy mozzarella and ripe tomatoes – create a classic combination that tastes as good as it looks.
This salad is often served as a starter or side dish, but it can also be enjoyed as a light main course, especially during the warmer months. The soft, mild mozzarella pairs perfectly with the juicy sweetness of the tomatoes. For extra flavour, it’s common to drizzle some olive oil over the top and sprinkle a little salt and pepper. Fresh basil leaves are often added, which not only enhances the taste but also gives the salad a beautiful pop of green. Some people also like to include a splash of balsamic vinegar for a tangy twist.
While this salad is delicious on its own, it can also be part of a more complete meal. If you’re serving it as a main dish, you might want to accompany it with some crusty bread, such as a baguette or ciabatta, to soak up the juices. Adding a green salad on the side, or perhaps a handful of olives, can create a more filling meal.
As a side dish, this mozzarella and tomato salad works well with a variety of mains. It’s a fantastic companion to grilled chicken, fish, or steak. For vegetarians, serving it alongside roasted vegetables or a hearty pasta dish complements the flavours beautifully.
Whether enjoyed as a light meal or a fresh side, mozzarella and tomato salad is versatile and easy to love. Its simplicity allows the quality of the ingredients to shine, making it a delicious option for any dining occasion.

Made this for a veggie friend and ended up sharing it. It is really refreshing and tasty.
Adding a little green salad in the centre was a lovely touch. Perfect as a light lunch or side dish
I love how simple and fresh this salad is. The combination of mozzarella, tomatoes, and herbs is classic, and the addition of balsamic vinegar gave it a nice tang. The green salad in the middle added extra crunch.
This mozzarella and tomato salad was so simple yet packed with flavour. The mozzarella was soft and creamy, while the tomatoes were juicy and sweet.
I made this for a family barbecue, and it was a big hit! The fresh basil added such a lovely aroma, and the drizzle of olive oil brought everything together beautifully.
It’s quick to prepare and looks elegant on the plate. Great with grilled chicken or just by itself.
This is a go-to for when I want something healthy but tasty.
