- 500 g beef sirloin or rump thinly sliced
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp mirin or sweet rice wine
- 1 tbsp sake optional
- 2 tbsp brown sugar or honey
- 2 cloves garlic finely chopped
- 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
- 1 tsp sesame oil
For the stir-fry:
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 medium green bell pepper sliced
- 1 medium red bell pepper sliced
- 1 small broccoli head cut into florets
- 1 small onion sliced
To garnish:
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 2 medium spring onions sliced
Instructions
Prepare the marinade:

Marinate the beef:

Cook the beef:
- In the same pan, add the marinated beef along with the marinade. Cook over high heat for 3–4 minutes. Stir frequently until the beef is browned and nearly cooked through.
Combine and glaze:
- Return the vegetables to the pan. Stir everything together so the sauce coats evenly. If a thicker glaze is preferred, add the cornflour mixture and cook for another 1–2 minutes until the sauce becomes glossy.1 tsp cornflour, 2 tbsp water
Finish and serve:
