Gremolata is such a simple Italian recipe with only three ingredients. However, it adds so much freshness and snap to so many dishes. Its normally associated with Osso Buco but I have used it with Lasagna. It can be used as a topping and garnish. Either one works and adds a lovely additional flavour. The original recipe includes anchovies which can be added and is used as more of a seasoning than an ingredient. I often make this in advance and store it in an air tight container in the fridge. It will be perfect for about a week. You can also freeze it in smaller portions.

This is normally placed on top of osso buco but can be used on many different dishes for a freshness of garlic and lemon.

  • Combine all ingredients in a small mound on a cutting board and chop finely.
