Jams and Preserves are where fruits is preserved for future use. Normally the main preserving agent is sugar and sometimes acid. I store them in sterilised jars and used as a condiment or spread. Furthermore, they are good to use for a long time and can be frozen.
There are so many different option for Jams and Preserves. From the usual strawberry and raspberry through to Tomato Chili Jam and Gooseberry and Rhubarb. Others include, Marmalade, Blackcurrant, Blueberry, Plum and Apple to name but a few.
Jam also has the benefit of being used to create glazes for a variety of meats. Add a spoonful of jam to a boring cheesecake to take it to a new level.
