Chinese Honey Drumsticks are a perfect Chinese dish to have with everything from salad to chips. These drumsticks are tasty, moist and sticky which makes this so popular. I make the marinade in advance so the chicken marinate over night. These drumsticks can be baked but also barbecued.

Ingredients
- 12 large chicken drumsticks
- 1 inch ginger peel and grated
- 5 cloves garlic peel and mince
- 3 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 4 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Using a non-metal bowl or a sealable freezer bag add the ginger, oil, soy sauce, garlic, honey and black pepper and stir to mix.1 inch ginger, 5 cloves garlic, 3 tbsp dark soy sauce, 4 tbsp honey, ½ tsp black pepper, 2 tbsp olive oil
- Add the chicken drumsticks and using your hands, massage the marinade into the chicken. Cover with a tight-fitting lid or cling file/plastic wrap the bowl.12 large chicken drumsticks
- Place in the fridge to marinade ideally overnight but at least 2 hours.
- Remove from the fridge and allow to warm to room temperature before cooking.
- Preheat the oven to 190C/375F/Gas Mark 6.
- Place the drumsticks in a single layer into a large baking tray coated with foil.
- Cook for 45 – 50 minutes or until fully cooked. I turn the drumsticks over after 20 minutes and baste with any leftover marinade at the same time.
