Pastry is a simple dough of flour, water and shortening that can be savoury or sweet. I used to buy this in blocks from the local supermarket but it turns out to be about three times the cost of making it yourself. Hence I started to make Shortcrust Pastry – Mums Method at home. Also the children and grandchildren love to “help”. Pastry can be used in a large section of the menu.
