Served as a side dish in recipes such as Prawn and Spinach Biryani or with a range of curries and so many more. As with most rice, basmati can be cooked in advance and served hot and cold depending on the dish.

  • 1 Frying Pan
  • 1 Cup

  • Place a frying pan or saucepan over a medium high heat and add the rice and water.
  • Add a pinch of salt.
  • Bring the rice/water to a simmer and place the lid on the pan. Must be tight fitting to help steam the rice.
  • Turn the heat down to a medium low and cook for 12 minutes. Do not touch!!
  • After 12 minutes, take a look to make sure all of the water has been absorbed.
  • Place lid back on and leave for 5 minutes.
  • Remove lid and fluff up the rice with a fork.
  • Simple.
