An Apple Crisp is a variation on an Apple Crumble with oatmeal as the main ingredient for the topping. The addition of the cinnamon and nutmeg adds a subtle background flavour that brings this dish together so well. While I have used baking apples in this recipe, other fruits can be used. Try old friends apple and blackberry or mango and peach for example. Serve as a dessert on its own, with double cream or my favourite with vanilla ice cream.

I also use other fruits as well or even mix a few together for different flavours. Choices are vast.
