Sautéed Sweet Peppers is a bright superb colourful side dish that adds a sweet yet subtle hit to a meal. The dish is simple to produce and can also be served as a main dish. To add a little heat you can also add a teaspoon of paprika or cayenne to the bell peppers.

Ingredients
- 2 medium green bell pepper strips
- 2 medium red bell pepper strip
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp basil dried
- 2 cups pilau rice hot
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 pinch ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Add peppers and saute for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Add water and pepper; continue sauteing for 4 to 5 minutes or until peppers are tender. Stir in basil and remove from heat.2 tbsp water, 1 pinch ground black pepper, 1/2 tsp basil
- Spread rice over a serving platter, spoon peppers and liquid on top, and serve.2 cups pilau rice
