How to Cook Basmati Rice used to be a struggle. It was over done, under done or stuck in one ball. However since finding this recipe and following it every time, basmati rice perfection has been achieved. Served as a side dish in recipes such as Prawn and Spinach Biryani or with a range of curries and so many more. As with most rice, basmati can be cooked in advance and served hot and cold depending on the dish.
How to Cook Basmati Rice
A simple recipe that works everytime.
Equipment
- 1 Frying Pan
- 1 Cup
Ingredients
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 1.5 cups water
- salt
Instructions
- Place a frying pan or saucepan over a medium high heat and add the rice and water.
- Add a pinch of salt.
- Turn the heat down to a medium low and cook for 12 minutes. Do not touch!!
- After 12 minutes, take a look to make sure all of the water has been absorbed.
- Place lid back on and leave for 5 minutes.
- Remove lid and fluff up the rice with a fork.
- Simple.
