
Jalapeño Grits
Grits are a classic American ingredient of ground corn. Mix with a few dairy products and chillies and OMG!!

Ingredients
- 1 cup grits 250 ml
- 2 large eggs beaten
- 8 oz pepper Jack cheese grated, 225 g
- 1/2 cup butter 125 ml
- 4 cups boiling water 1 L
- 1 pinch Salt to taste
- 1 pinch ground pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place the grits in the slow cooker and pour the boiling water over them, stirring until smooth.
- Set the cooker on low heat and let the grits soak for 10 minutes.
- Add the remaining ingredients, stirring until the butter is melted.
- Cook covered on low heat for 3 to 4 hours.
Notes
I often serve mine with pan fried shrimp or with poached eggs on top and crispy bacon. Either way is a winner.
