In the realm of my kitchen, few dishes possess the ability to bring everyone together so quickly like Sesame Chicken with Noodles. This delightful fusion of Asian flavours marries succulent chicken coated in a sticky, savoury sauce with slurp-worthy noodles. The result is a perfect combination of taste and texture that will leave you yearning for more.
Sesame Chicken with Noodles is a recipe from an old friend Mrs Woo. She always used to say that the day begins in the kitchen and she was so right. This noodle dish is so good and the marinade is so flavourful and aromatic it fill the home with a lovely scent. Adding the toasted sesame seeds gives the chicken breast a superb additional texture. Mrs Woo could make this dish in half the time but I have allowed an hour excluding marinade time. I use this as a main dish most of the time but when serving a group, it is a side dish. Enjoy.
Sesame Chicken with Noodles is a masterpiece that perfectly balances sweet, savoury and umami flavours. Each mouthful is a delightful blend of tender chicken, chewy noodles, and a luscious sauce that will tantalise your taste buds and leave you longing for more.
Not surprisingly, I use this recipes in one of my favourite menus:
Appetizer – Vegetable Spring Rolls: Light and crisp, vegetable spring rolls provide a refreshing start to the meal. Serve with a side of sweet chili sauce or peanut dipping sauce for added flavour.
Main Course – Sesame Chicken with Noodles: The star of the show. It offers a delightful blend of tender chicken, chewy noodles, and a luscious sauce infused with Asian flavours.
Stir-Fried Vegetables: A colourful medley of stir-fried vegetables. Vegetables such as bell peppers, broccoli, carrots and snap peas adds freshness and crunch to the meal. Seasoned with garlic, ginger, and a splash of soy sauce, these veggies provide a healthy balance to the dish.
Side Dish – Steamed Jasmine Rice: Fluffy steamed jasmine rice serves as the perfect accompaniment to soak up the delicious sauce from the sesame chicken. Its neutral flavour and light texture complement the richness of the main dish.
Condiments – Soy Sauce and Chilli Oil: Offer soy sauce and chilli oil on the side. This provides the option for those who prefer to customize the flavour of their meal. These condiments add an extra layer of depth and heat to the dishes.
Dessert – Mango Sticky Rice: End the meal on a sweet note with a classic Thai dessert. Simply made but so delicious a dish of sticky rice topped with ripe mango slices. The combination of creamy coconut-infused rice and juicy mangoes is a delightful treat for the palate.
Beverage – Jasmine Green Tea: Refreshing jasmine green tea pairs beautifully with the flavours of the meal, cleansing the palate and providing a light and aromatic beverage option.
The reason this menu woks so well is that the dishes can be prepared and cooked simultaneously. Especially as this lovely menu offers a balance of flavours, textures and nutritional ingredients. Guaranteed to ensure a satisfying and memorable dining experience centred around Sesame Chicken with Noodles.
