Chayote Salad – Ensalada de Chayote

Chayote Salad - Ensalada de Chayote - TheRecipe.Website

Chayote Salad – Ensalada de Chayote is a lovely Mexican dish that is overlooked in much of the world. Chayote is an edible plant belonging to the same family as melons, cucumbers and squash. They are available from better supermarkets. This is a divinely simple recipe that even I can follow.  Like many Mexican dishes is lovely but add the lime or lemon juice and oh my god. There is a burst of flavour as the juice marinades everything instantly and gives the kick you wanted.  Also serve this with Tequila ShrimpChicken Fajitas and Sinaloa-Style Grilled Chicken – Pollo a la Brasas for a superb meal.
