  • Soak oatmeal in sour milk 1 hour; add egg and beat well.
    1 cup quick cook oats, 1 cup sour milk, 1 large eggs
  • Add sugar and mix. Add cooled shortening. Add flour sifted with salt, baking powder and soda.
    1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup shortening, 1 cup flour, 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • Bake in greased muffin pans in hot oven (400 degrees) 15 to 20 minutes.
