Apple Cake is a recipe my mother gave me. When the apples are in season, its time for this cake. The soft moist cake topped with fresh apples creates a meal on its own, Serve with custard or cream for a dessert, on its own as a cake and snack. Also i have been know to have this for breakfast.

A favourite in my household. The soft fruit blends with the cake mixture to create a cake that won’t last long.

Ingredients
- 1 large eggs free range
- 2/3 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 4 large apples peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 2 tsp cinnamon See Notes
Instructions
- Mix the egg, milk, butter, and vanilla together in a small bowl.1 large eggs, 2/3 cup milk, 1/4 cup butter, 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl and add the egg mixture.2 cups flour, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp Salt
- Mix until combined.
- Pour into a greased 9-inch (23 cm) cake pan at least 2 inches (5 cm) deep.
- Arrange the apple slices on top of the batter and sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar.4 large apples, 2 tsp cinnamon
- Bake in a preheated 375F (190C) oven for 25 to 30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Simple but so tasty cake. Use it as a desert so it is served warm.
Note:
Mix th cinnamon with 2 Tbsp of sugar
