Asparagus and Bacon Spears Recipe - TheRecipe.Website
When it comes to a treat tis is my favourite. Imagine tender asparagus spears, enveloped in savoury bacon and kissed with a delicate drizzle of sweet honey. Sounds good, I know and taste amazing. Asparagus and Bacon Spears is a celebration of contrasting flavours and textures. The perfect combination of the earthy freshness of asparagus with the saltiness of bacon and the subtle sweetness of honey. Together they create a culinary masterpiece that delights the senses.
To create this delectable appetizer, start by selecting fresh asparagus spears with tightly closed tips and firm stems. Trim off the woody ends, then wrap each spear with a slice of bacon, ensuring it is securely fastened. Place the bacon-wrapped asparagus on a greaseproof lined baking sheet, leaving space between each bundle to ensure even cooking.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the asparagus bundles for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the asparagus is tender-crisp. The bacon will render its savoury fat, infusing the asparagus with its irresistible flavour while crisping up to perfection.
While the asparagus is roasting, prepare the honey drizzle. Simply warm a few tablespoons of honey in a small saucepan over low heat until it becomes thin and pourable. Alternatively, you can microwave the honey for a few seconds until it reaches the desired consistency.
Once the bacon-wrapped asparagus is cooked to golden perfection, remove from the oven and transfer it to a serving platter. Drizzle the warm honey over the top of the bundles, allowing it to cascade down the sides. Ensure each one has a drizzle as this adds a perfect touch of sweetness to every bite.
The combination of smoky bacon, tender-crisp asparagus, and luscious honey creates a harmonious blend of flavours that dance across the palate. Each bite offers a symphony of textures – the crunch of bacon, the snap of asparagus, and the silky smoothness of honey – resulting in a culinary experience that is both indulgent and satisfying.
Serve this elegant appetizer at your next gathering or dinner party, and watch as it disappears within moments, leaving your guests craving more of this irresistible combination. Asparagus wrapped in bacon drizzled in honey is not just a dish – it’s a culinary sensation that elevates the ordinary to the extraordinary, leaving a lasting impression on all who indulge in its deliciousness
Asparagus and Bacon Spears are one of those recipes you always fancy. They are quick to produce and tasty so good either on their own or with a sauce or dip.
