Cornbread is a quick bread made with cornmeal instead of flour. It is most commonly associated with the cuisine of the southern states of America. It’s origins date back to Native American cuisine. Dumplings and pancakes made with finely ground cornmeal are standard food of the Hopi people in Arizona. It has since been incorporated in many dishes including Green Onion and Cornbread Stuffing, and Cornbread Turkey and Cranberry Sandwiches.
