A Pear is a another member of the rose family like the blackberry. It is considered one of the most important fruit trees in the world. Unlike a lot of fruit, it grows naturally in both th north and southern hemispheres. While the fruit can be eaten fresh it is also tinned for prolonging its life, normally in its own juice. Used in cooking as an ingredient but also as a decorative element. Its also brewed into an alcoholic beverage called Perry.
