Screwdriver Cocktail is a favourite cocktail of mine. It originated sometime during the 1930s and 40s in the Arab peninsula. Rumour has it that workers mixed local alcohol with their orange juice and without having a spoon to hand, used a screwdriver to stir it. Hence the name. In the United Kingdom it is called “Vodka and Orange”.
