Ingredients
- 2 lbs stewing beef cut into 1-inch/2 cm cubes
- 3 cups beef stock
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 2 large onions chopped
- 2 large carrots diced
- 2 ribs celery chopped
- 2 medium potatoes peeled and diced
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 whole bay leaf
- salt to taste
- ground pepper to taste
Instructions
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, 1 tbsp paprika, 1 tsp dried thyme, salt
- Add the beef to the flour mixture and toss to coat.2 lbs stewing beef
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over moderate heat and brown the beef on all sides.1 tbsp vegetable oil
- Transfer the beef to the slow cooker with a slotted spoon.
- Add the remaining ingredients and cook covered on low heat for 8 to 10 hours.
- Remove the bay leaf before serving.
