How much do you know about this countries cuisine? Not much, well join the club. It does have regional variations but incorporates the cuisines of its neighbours France, Germany and the Netherlands. It is said that Belgian food is served in the quantity of German cuisine but with the quality of French food.  Also Belgium is best known for its chocolate, soap tarts, waffles, fries and beer.

Ingredients typical in recipes include potatoes, leeks, grey shrimp, white asparagus and Belgian endives and local beer.  Belgians typically eat three meals a day, with a light breakfast, medium lunch, a snack and large dinner.

Many of the recipes are virtually identical to its neighbours but with a slight twist.  Don’t forget, this is the country that brought the world a vegetable that you either love or hate – The Brussel Sprout! Sprouts cooked with bacon are delicious.
