Fusilli is a shape of pasta that are formed into corkscrew or helical shapes. Fusilli comes the the Italian word Fuso which means a spindle.
The shape is formed by rolling a small rod over strips of pasta causing them to wind round forming the shape. Fusilli are also well known for the number of colour is comes in. This is caused by adding other ingredients into the dough such as tomato, spinach etc. This pasta is a firm favourite amongst children.
