Poultry refers to birds that are farmed/bred for their eggs and meat. It is the second most widely eaten type of meat globally along with eggs. The meat and eggs provide nutritionally beneficial food containing high-quality protein accompanied by a low proportion of fat.


There are a lot of birds that fall under the reference i.e. Chicken, Cornish Game Hen, Duck, Emu, Gizzards, Goose, Grouse. Not to mention Guinea Hen, Ostrich, Partridge, Pheasant, Pigeon, Quail, Squab and Turkey. This list is flexible as some call certain birds as game.
