Asian cuisine includes several major regional cuisines: East , Southeast , South, Central and Middle Eastern/Western of Asia.  Asia is the largest and most populated continent and home to many cultures and cuisines.

Ingredients common to the East/Southeast Asia include rice, ginger, garlic, sesame seeds, chilies, dried onions, soy, and tofu. Common cooking methods across Asia include Stir frying, steaming, and deep frying.

While rice is common to most Asian cuisines, different varieties are popular in the various regions. Basmati rice is popular in the subcontinent. Jasmine rice is often found across the southeast.  Long-grain rice is popular in China and short-grain in Japan and KoreaCurry is a common dish in southern, south-eastern Asia, Japan and also in other East Asian cuisines.  Curry dishes with origins in India and northern South Asian countries have a yogurt base. While those in southern India, Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia generally use coconut milk as their foundation.

While I love the recipes from many parts of the world, Asian recipes and cuisines in general are my favourite. They contain recipes that are easy to prepare and cook, full of flavour and texture and aroma. These dishes make the kitchen smell divine and welcoming.
