The simple combination of bacon and tomatoes—two ingredients that bring a rich depth of flavour, whether paired in a classic sandwich or simmered together in...
Bacon is a meat product prepared from cured pork. It is first cured using large quantities of salt, either a brine or a dry packing.
Fresh bacon may then be dried for weeks or months in cold air, or it may be boiled or smoked. It is used in a lot of recipes that have it as a main ingredient, to give it extra body or as an additional texture. So many recipes are household names around the planet. From Spaghetti Carbonara to Bacon and Egg Muffins.
Furthermore, it comes in back, streaky, Canadian, gypsy, slab, rasher, pancetta, American style, unsmoked and smoked.
Tip:
An old wives tale was that you should always lay the rashers/pancetta etc. in a cold pan and then heat it up. Sounds strange but it does work.
